Back in February, we flew up to New Jersey to shoot a video about a police officer in Wall Township who had befriended a resident during a routine police call. The two formed a friendship and the officer, Michael Malone, learned that the man was a legitimate World War II hero. Harry Rockafeller had served under General Patton and had been awarded numerous medals. He had lived quietly in Wall Township for over 70 years.

Fundraising for the Memorial

Michael used the video (along with a website) to raise money to erect a nine-foot bronze statue of Harry at the Wall Township municipal complex. He eclipsed his initial goal and has raised well over $200,000. The remaining funds will be used for veteran programs and charities.

Mission Accomplished
